Perspectives Classes

Return to Coordinating
On of the developments we didn't share much about this fall was a return to coordinating for Melissa and I. There were three primary factors that lead us to this for the Fall 2016 semester. Thankfully, these factors that pulled us into coordinating are celebrations of how God moved in our time to lead locally.
- Leadership Development
This Fall there was momentum to carry a class but no local leadership to coordinate. Typically local volunteers are the ones who play the key leadership role. Without someone else there, we decided to step up for this season - but also tasked ourselves to replace ourselves. Out of our time together two teams are now ready to lead Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 classes, with more stakeholders.
- Experience/Exposure
In leading teams of volunteers, it is important to be able to speak from experience and empathize with the frustrations local leaders experience. We needed to find another opportunity so the timing was right for us to lead. Now we can say, "when we did this last Fall ..."
- Partnership
As a part of the Summit Church since 2003 we've been able to work with them in partnership offering Perspectives for almost 10 years. Leading provided an opportunity to deepen this partnership and continue to work with their key leaders.
Spring Classes
This spring we have 17 classes running in the southeast. Seven (41%) of these classes are in a new city or a city that hasn't run a class in awhile, Praise God. Please pray with us for all of these classes. Most of them launched last week or this week. Pray that the students that attend will be open to how God is leading them and that the nations will be blessed because of it.

Let's Celebrate Adoption
|
|
In the December newsletter we announced that we would be moving forward on Adoption #2. We have been so blessed by the encouragement and support from our community, Yall are wonderful.
As you may know adoptions cost a lot of money. In total we will need about $30,000. Our first milestone is to have $10,000 to start the homestudy process.
This week we launched a fundraising campaign to help with the adoption costs and we are already half way to our 100 shirt goal!
