{Hoffman Holla' 2018-11} Regional Gathering

Perspectives Southeast Regional Gathering

Southeast Team at Gathering

One of the elements we praise God the most for in our work is being able to work with incredible people. We directly lead 21 regional team members who co-lead a mobilization movement. Then we lead an additional 100 volunteers (coordinators plus a few hundred team members they lead) who are responsible for local mobilization. In addition we partner with multiple agencies, churches and lay people. This is a movement of local mobilization!

This November we were able to gather our regional team together in Rome, GA for an extended weekend of team building, vision casting, collaboration. This was our second installation of a Regional Gathering and we've already scheduled the next one for Nov. 2019.

We were staying in a cabin on the top of the GA Appalachia mountains. There were stunning sunrises and sunsets that displayed the glory of God visually during our time together.

We were able to together work toward our vision: "the body of Christ awakened to pursue the fulfillment of God's global purpose within every people for His glory." We discussed how to engage with volunteers and honed our processes together. These are strategic times of our team growing in clarity and unity.

Teaching with Audience Participation

We had scheduled a multi-day Alabama trip with teaching engagements and homeschool activities. This means that for the first time we took our daughter with us on a work trip.

She was sitting in the audience with us while we taught Lesson 15: World Christian Discipleship. In principle, we want our Perspectives instructors to use personal examples to highlight the material. Thus we have multiple instances of stories about family life engaging in mission. It's always life-giving to present the lesson but part of the added joy with this lesson was watching our daughter's reactions to telling stories about eating steak together, or going to the Chinese restaurant or talking about her "smurky face"! May God allow us to continue to do ministry as a family.

Support Update

Our aspiration has been to be fully funded by the end of the year to move into 2019 ministry with strength and full efforts devoted to the vision and mission. We've been encouraged by new partners joining and will be making a big push to get fully funded. Pray with us for people to find their Great Commission engagement in partnering financially with this mobilization movement.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the support raising process to call people to Great Commission participation by investing in mobilization via Perspectives. Pray specifically that we would be fully funded by the end of the year.
  • Pray for our end of year ministry efforts and those of local coordinators completing the mobilization-discipleship processes of Perspectives.
  • Pray for those 400+ Fall Perspectives participants to continue the process of growing in the character and purposes of God. Pray that their community Great Commission engagement and partnership would increase.
  • Pray for our family and the adoption process.
