Frontier Ventures Change in Leadership

The new year brought leadership changes for Frontier Ventures. As of 2018 Frontier Ventures had been in a shared leadership role with three undistinguished General Directors. The organization has confirmed a restructuring that has named Dr. Kevin Higgins as the sole General Director - the other leaders are serving still - now under him. Kevin has the experience of reviving and developing mission agencies and his experience will take us forward to the future. He carries himself as a grace-filled, spirit-directed, direction-setting leader. If interested in more, here is a press release from the Christian News Wire.

Kevin and our leadership at Frontier Ventures are moving us forward in our vision, mission and values:

Frontier Ventures cultivates collaborating communities
that innovate, mobilize and train
in order to catalyze movements to Jesus,
expressing the fullness of the Kingdom,
within every people.

Joining the Frontier Ventures Board of Directors

In January we began our engagement with the Frontier Ventures board - returning to Pasadena for face-to-face board meetings.

We are honored by the invitation to join at an executive leadership level. We were able to have meaningful contribution and learn from seasoned leaders at the same time. Much of our face-to-face work was reviewing over 200 pages of qualitative reviews of 2018 processes. It brought us into the history and the future of the organization.

Apart from the face-to-face meetings there are frequent emails to process and virtual meetings as well. It's been a slight challenge to carve out the space for it as we are still support raising but overall this role integrates with the season God has us in currently.

I've been intentionally vague here trying to share our response more than a report on the happenings. I'd be open to sharing more details personally if you wanted to ask.

The Pasadena campus is in the process of being sold. Our daughter joined us on this trip and we were able to share with her the heritage of her life in that space.

Support Update

Praise God for the end of year giving and increased partners fueling the ministry in which we are engaged. We are at 82% of our support raised and look forward to continuing to invite people to express their Great Commission participation through Frontier Ventures.

The aspiration was to be fully funded by January - the same timeline as our FV Board responsibilities, essentially transitioning the time devoted to support raising to the Board thus allowing us to extend ministry responsibilities without adding more to our plate. We aren't fully there yet but will continue to move in that direction.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the support raising process to call people to Great Commission participation by investing in mobilization via Perspectives. Pray specifically that we would be able to raise the remaining amount in the coming weeks.
  • Pray for engagement with the FV Board. Pray for clarity in vision, strategic thinking, longterm growth and graceful interactions.
  • Pray for our Perspectives role in stewarding a mobilization movement. There are over 800 Perspectives participants in our nine state region this semester.
  • Pray for our family and the adoption process.

Recieve our updates.
