Importance of Team

Perspectives is Bigger than us
Some days I (Adam) sit in my desk in awe that I have the honor and privilege to steward the program that changed my life. The fact that I get to do it with my wife and teammate is another undeserved blessing.
We realize that Perspectives is bigger than us. God and His movement of bring all peoples to know Him is immensely big. Its comforting to know that God is moving forward yet wants to do so with our willful obedience. This also makes it abundantly clear that the pathway to do this is team and community.
We tend to operate as team whether in the ecosystem of Team Hoffman or brining others along with us. We know the body of Christ is able to accomplish all things with God - which means we are to find, train, and empower to work together. We truly have a vision for team. In addition, our end of year SWOT analysis revealed that most of what we wanted to see happen was related to a staffing capacity - we needed more team to work with us. Based on our organizational imperatives we are also required to build team.
Area Mobilizers
Area Mobilizers are localized in-betweens for groupings of classes and the Regional office. As local entities they have the ability to build the type of relationships and partnerships that allow for stability and growth of the program. Coming into the role, we knew we needed to find these people.
As of now we have four Area Mobilizers who have risen to the surface in leadership of their local areas. They were already leading out and just needed recognition, empowerment and a title. Just this last week we had our first Area Mobilizer Team meeting. We discussed the Regional vision of 50 classes by 2020 and began to flesh out what that looks like locally.
Pray with these servants in Raleigh, Atlanta, Orlando and Pensacola.

Teaching Update
|
|
These past two months we have been traveling a lot. We were in Pasadena for some INSIGHT meeting - our flights back East were cancelled by the January snow storm so we were "stuck" in our old home for five more days. We also taught the history section of Perspectives (lessons 6, 7, & 8) across North Carolina and Georgia. These lessons are historical in nature but the purpose is to expose the character and purpose of God among all peoples.
One of the lessons covers some of the missionary pioneers who went before us. From their stories we see ordinary, broken people with varying capacity going out in obedience to God, only to be used as a vessel by him. Some of the stories read more like soap operas than what we think would be in religious biographies. Above is one of Melissa's favorite quotes from Ann Judson, the first Anglo American (couple) to be a missionary. Who was the first American missionary?

In the next two months we have six opportunities to teach Lesson 15 where we answer the question, "what do we do with all this information now"? This is such a fun time helping people to see that they are called to the Mission of God. Since the question is no longer, "am I called", but "where am I called", we get to walk with them in providing tangible opportunities to join God in his global purposes.
or His Glory in All the Earth!
