Frontier Ventures is clarifying the mission task

The beginning of Frontier Ventures (formerly the US Center for World Mission) was about bringing clarity - through awareness - of the mission task. We could no longer go to the familiar places where we knew churches if we wanted to see access to the gospel for all people. Instead there were pockets of people cut off from access to the gospel - unreached people groups.

Frontier Ventures Vision and Mission

In a sense, we were trying to work ourselves out of a job - to create a envirnoment where Unreached People groups were broadly understood, strategized for from agencies and talked about in churches. We've seen some incredible strides in that very direction while still the vast majority of people and money go to support existing church efforts instead of those efforts where people have no access to the gospel without an intentiional incarnational approach.

Now that cultural has watered down and used "missions", "missional", and "unreached" to mean the same thing as ministry (in general), clarity is needed once more in defining what needs to happen in order for the Great Commission to be complete. Please don't mishear me in that ministry is not not valuable - that's not my intended message. However, there is a different kind of ministry needed for those that do not have access to the gospel.

Defining the Remaining Task: Frontier Peoples

Now that cultural has watered down and used "missions", "missional", and "unreached" to mean the same thing as ministry (in general), clarity is needed once more in defining what needs to happen in order for the Great Commission to be complete. What is Frontier Ventures praying and striving for?

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the support raising process to call people to Great Commission participation by investing in mobilization via Perspectives. Pray that our increased roles and increased need (with our son) would help people to see the opportunity to make a kingdom investment in the ministry we are involved in.
  • Pray for engagement with the FV Board. Pray for clarity in vision, strategic thinking, longterm growth and graceful interactions.
  • Pray for our Perspectives role in stewarding a mobilization movement. There are over 800 Perspectives participants in our nine state region this semester.
  • Pray for our family off four and the continuing transition of our son into our home.
