{Hoffman Holla' 2017-11} Perspectives Orlando Leaders Intensive

This March we will be running our very first Perspectives Intensive course in our region. Our prayer for this event is that it would be more than a class, but would be a catalyst for our vision to see 50 classes in the Southeast annually by 2020. By getting leaders involved our aspiration is that increased stakeholders in churches, agencies and instructors would cultivate an increased desire for our Southeast communities (& beyond).

Melissa tends to enjoy BIG events - as an extrovert, she lives in the social moment. She also has great experience in project planning events: staff conferences, Urbana, Perspectives National Conference. These same skill sets are being put to use in the Orlando Leader's Intensive - a Perspectives class that operates as a conference. Praise God with us for preparing her for this role. Pray for her efforts in planning, envisioning and working with a team to see this class happen well.

Mobilize your Church Leaders

We believe in partnership. Mission newsletters tend to be informational. We desire to go beyond and to resource you to particiate in mobilization and live out the Great Commission mandate given to all of us.

Here is a very practical invitation: consider two to five church leaders you think Perspectives would serve well and personally invite them to take the intensive. Below are some resources you may find useful in recruiting (images are links).

Are you committing to this? Let us know by responding to this email! May God be glorified in the mobiilization of Christ's Body - for His glory.

What is Perspectives?

Perspectives is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points or "perspectives" — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God's global purpose.

The Biblical and Historical sections reveal why our confidence is based on the historic fact of God's relentless work from the dawn of history until this day.

The Cultural and Strategic sections underscore that we are in the midst of a costly, but very "do-able" task, confirming the Biblical and Historical hope.

Perspectives Vision ...

is to see the Body of Christ awakened to pursue the fulfillment of God's global purpose within every people for His glory.

Perspectives Mission ...

is to mobilize by educating the Body of Christ (in the USA) to strategic engagement in God's global purpose.

Perspectives Leadership Consulation

October 25-29 we were in Kansas City MO for the 2017 Perspectives Leadership Consultation. This annual meeting of Directors is something we look forward to each year. While all day meetings aren't what we typically think of "fun", its enjoyable to get together with like-minded others and discuss the issues that are core to our ministry. I would summarize the event into three three major headers: Alignment, Family Environment, and Progress.

Alignment - only ⅓ of this Director level leadership is commonly located, meaning ⅔ of us are implementing in loose connection to others. This time of gathering and hearing from one another allows us to be on the same page and centralize our vision, mission and values.

Family Environment - there is a bond that the Holy Spirit has initiated as we share passion, commitments and experiences. This community builds up one another when we are in each others' midst. Paired with the geographic isolation, these annual gatherings have a family reunion feel.

Progress - our time together is productive in moving toward our organizational goals. We clarify policy, share best practices, get better understanding of systems and roll out new initiatives. This isn't a ministry waste of time but a good time of bearing fruit together.

Adoption Update

Hooray! We are homestudy approved. This is the legal permission by the state of North Carolina to adopt. It allows us also to ramp up funding activity with access to grants, loans and brings us closer to becoming a family of four.

We continue to work on the house in order to provide the space necessary to take this child in. We have drywall up and are working to mud and tape it together. There is still a lot of work to be done to finish the project and get permission for occupancy.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the Perspectives Leaders' Intensive to be a catalyst for mobilization in local communities through the participants and a catalyst for growth for the region to see 50 classes by 2020.
  • Continue to Pray for the adoption process including the home expansion project to complete our home study.
  • Pray for Fall 2017 classes to finish well and mobilize effectively; pray for Spring 2018 classes recruiting for January launches

Thank you for praying for us and keeping up with us on this journey!
