Teaching Perspectives

One of the perks of our role as Perspectives Regional Directors is getting to serve classes as instructors. Teaching is something we both really enjoy. In January We traveled down to Auburn AL where Melissa taught lesson 2, "The Story of His Glory". This class was lots of fun because it was 98% college students. This week we are headed to Charlotte to co-teach lesson 7 "Era's of Mission History" This lesson looks at the big ideas that changed mission history taking the gospel from the coast-lands to the in-lands and now to try and reach every unreached people group left.
Our hope and desire every time we are teaching is that God will use us to mobilize his church to further mission involvement. A student from one of these classes could go out and change the world. Please pray with us for these students. Pray that God would speak louder than us and that they would hear His call and find their place in God's mission.

18 classes launched this Spring. While some were cancelled, for those that remained, we were 88% enrolled - higher than any semester we've had thus far. I'm excited for God to move our (local classes included) vision to align with resources we have available. We take great care to steward our people, finances and time well and this is a indicator of success in that regard.

Many classes are in the mid-semester struggle as 15 weeks can become draining half-way through. Pray with the local teams that they would maintain strength and push forward in perseverance to take in all God has for them. Pray for people to find tangible ways of living a new paradigm of becoming a World Christian.

Adoption Update

We are still raising funds for our adoption process. We are saving each month and doing fundraisers. Our first T-shirt campaign was a huge success raising nearly $5000. So many have asked for more of these shirts so we are relaunching the campaign.

Consider buying one (or more) to a) help raise the culture of honoring adoption in our community b) they really are awesome shirts c) this is a primary way for us to raise adoption funding while accomplishing our other goals.

All the funds raised go toward our adoption costs but more than that we love the message these shirts send to adopted kids. If you know of any families built through adoption, please share the link with them - we love lifting up and celebrating the culture of adoption. The campaign ends March 13th.

What is Perspectives? Perspectives is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points or "perspectives" — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God's global purpose. The Biblical and Historical sections reveal why our confidence is based on the historic fact of God's relentless work from the dawn of history until this day. The Cultural and Strategic sections underscore that we are in the midst of a costly, but very "do-able" task, confirming the Biblical and Historical hope. Click here to find a class near you.

Adam & Melissa serve with Frontier Ventures, currently assigned to a the Perspectives program as Southeast Regional Directors. They assist, serve, coach and teach within the Perspectives classes in NC, SC, GA, FL & AL.
