Adam is the Eastern Executive Mobilization Officer for Perspectives. He serves on the Exec Team and with Regional Directors on the East Coast. His passion is infusing a clarity in vision to the expansion of the Kingdom of God in people’s hearts.

Melissa shares the leadership of the Perspectives Southeast Region with Adam. Her passion is to see people find their place in God's global mission.

Southeast Regional Directors - Officially



Officially on Tuesday April 14th we were handed the baton and the keys to Perspectives in the Southeast. As Regional Directors we get to work with the ≈ 25 classes running in the Southeast. Our role is to train, coach, serve and mentor coordinators as they run local classes. We want to raise these coordinators beyond administrators of a class but stewarding the mobilization of people.



Vision for Perspectives in the Southeast

We want to see the Southeast become a place known for its mission sending and receiving capacity, even over its reputation for being the bible belt. We see ourselves as mobilizers at the core so everything we do is to help the body of Christ find their place in God's mission. The Perspectives course is one of the tools that God is using to mobilize the body of Christ.

We want to focus on expanding Perspectives around the major college campuses in the region. We see college students and young adults uniquely and strategically positioned to leverage their lives to Kingdom purposes. The knowledge of the Mission of God can redirect their lives to focus their energy toward His purposes. At any life-stage this is our goal, however habits and commitments can impede this process as we grow older. College students are mobile and untethered, thus able to drive values deep.

We are praying for big growth! We want to see 50 regular classes in the Southeast develop over the next 5 years. Currently there are about 25 classes that run in the Southeast. With the church strong in this region and people continually moving here we believe that Perspectives can become even stronger in this region. All of this is so more people will get involved in God's mission and those who have no access to the gospel can be reached- All for the Glory of God!



Lives Changed
As the semester ends we are beginning to hear from students about how God has used the Perspectives course to impact their lives. We are always encouraged by these stories so we wanted to share some with you.

"It opened an avenue for understanding" - former missionary

"This has been my foundation in doing things well" - young adult who launched a non-profit in Africa

"I have been growing in my view of Christ and His supremacy and remembering the Piper quote, 'you can't commend what you do not cherish' " - Wycliffe Bible Translators candidate

One of the stories we heard was of a mother and father who were taking Perspectives because their three children had taken it. They were first hand witnesses of the change in their children's lives and wanted that for themselves. This was a blessing especially for us as they were parents of UNC classmates of mine. We invited their daughter KP to Perspectives with us in 2007. She now has gotten her whole family to take it and is still leading the city's steering committee for the local Perspectives course.

What is Perspectives?

Perspectives is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points or "perspectives" — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God's global purpose.

The Biblical and Historical sections reveal why our confidence is based on the historic fact of God's relentless work from the dawn of history until this day.

The Cultural and Strategic sections underscore that we are in the midst of a costly, but very "do-able" task, confirming the Biblical and Historical hope.
